I concur with Bill generally regarding the infrastructure investment attitudes of telecommunications companies; I'd far sooner trust AT&T than any other I can think of. On the other hand, having had the experience of laying TV cable at the minimum depth of 24 inches when the topsoil ends (and limestone begins) at 8 inches, in <100F Texas sun, I have some sympathy for the guy who has the job of laying the cable... -lar (can you say "pick-axe"?)
