This is a good thing. The system maintains a count of how many times a volume has been mounted. When that count exceeds some limit, fsck is forced to run on that volume. It's kind of a pain when you are in a hurry, but it is a good sanity check. BTW: Your email bounced because you are not subscribed to the discuss list.
