It has to do with the X colormap, and the number of colors that the Acrobat reader needs to display its picture. You probably are using 8 bit color; if you increase the color depth to 16 or 24, the effect will probably go away. Increasing the color depth requires adequate RAM on your video card. The setting is best controlled in the XF86Config file, although the invocation of the X server can also be changed (-bpp option, see man Xserver). - Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" on the first line of the message body to discuss-request at blu.org (Subject line is ignored).
