I'm just grasping at straws here. I would suggest you try a few things: First, go back to an earlier kernel. If you have the sources, say, 2.2.10 or earlier, try building it with the same configuration. Also, I don't think your problem is related to X or graphics since you have a problem in command line. You could try to crash the system from single user mode, but that might be a bit harder. I would also look at the IRQs you have assigned. You could have an IRQ conflict. I don't recall what command line utilities are available to list IRQs, but the KDE control panel has this capability. You could also have a board without a driver generating a spurious interrupt, a bad driver, or whatever. Do the quickest things first, which is probably booting a backup kernel. -- Jerry Feldman (HP On-Site Consultant) http://gbrweb.msd.ray.com/~gzf/ +-------------------------------------------------------+-----Note: ------+ | Raytheon Electronic Systems (W) (781)999-1837/1-1837 | My views may not| | Mail Stop: S3SG10 (F) (781)999-4030/1-4030 | reflect the | | 180 Hartwell Road (W) gzf at gbr.msd.ray.com | views of my | | Bedford, MA 01730-2498 (FWD:H+W) gaf at blu.org | employer. | +-------------------------------------------------------+-----------------+ - Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" on the first line of the message body to discuss-request at blu.org (Subject line is ignored).
