Okay guys, here's a strange one... There is a perl script sitting on the RH6 server. The script is chmod'd as 775. When the script is opened by a windows user to edit it in WinVi the webserver serves up a 500 error. If I attempt to run the script from the command line, I get the message that the "text file is busy". If the file is closed in WinVi, the file remains busy, and the webserver still gives the error message. By now your thinking, what does the error-log say, well, I'll tell you... [Tue Sep 28 09:50:55 1999] [error] (26)Text file busy: exec of /home/httpd/html/cuny/html/event.cgi failed [Tue Sep 28 09:50:55 1999] [error] [client 192.168.1.3] Premature end of script headers: /home/httpd/html/cuny/html/event.cgi [Tue Sep 28 09:50:57 1999] [error] (26)Text file busy: exec of /home/httpd/html/cuny/html/event.cgi failed [Tue Sep 28 09:50:57 1999] [error] [client 192.168.1.3] Premature end of script headers: /home/httpd/html/cuny/html/event.cgi Any ideas what might be causing this strange behavior???
