gcc include priority

Yes, I checked a bunch of other systems, and you are
correct, /usr/local/include always comes before 
/usr/include.   It seems that whatever did this to me
put a bogus "unistd.h" and "dirent.h" in my /usr/local/include
directory - and that is exactly the problem.
