have recently acquired a used ibm thinkpad with no manual or other documentation. on the keyboard face it says "760ED" and on the back "type 9547-U4G S/N 78-UYD73 96/10". i have rh5.2 installed, which runs fine with the text console, but with startx i get a brief flicker and then a blank screen. the startx message indicates a TFT display 800x600 with a cyber9385 chipset. there seems to be nothing unusual in the message. can anyone suggest any good modelines, or a sample XF86Config file which might produce better results, or ... ? tia, dan - Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" on the first line of the message body to discuss-request at blu.org (Subject line is ignored).
