Every time I installed linux, I have installed all the extra fonts, that get listed in the installation menu. These are the fonts that have been installed. 100dpi/ PEX/ Type1/ misc/ 75dpi/ Speedo/ cyrillic/ I have never been able to use more than few for the xterms. In X-application, some work and some don't. Typically, I try to use the -fn option of an Xapp and use the name listed in "fonts.alias" file. Most of them don't work. Is there any FAQ, as to how to get the most out of the fonts in X? I am serious limited with the choice of fonts for my Web pages. What part of X configuration did I miss for fonts?
