I'm currently running Linux and Win98 dual boot on a Sony Vaio 505TR. This was the last of the tiny Vaio systems that ran Linux well. Later models dropped support for their proprietary external floppy interface and went with USB floppy. The USB floppy will work great with the 2.4 kernels but don't plan on seeing that in regular distribution before February. If you can find an old 505TR still in the sales channel, it's a nice laptop except for the cramped keyboard. The current laptop being used on the road by the techs at VA is the slimline IBM ThinkPad. I'll get a model number and post another message. ccb --- Charles C.
