I have the exact pricing at work, but I believe the total price came out to somewhere in the neighborhood of $3500. I also (shame) had them install NT. They configured it to dual-boot via lilo, which is odd. My understanding was that w/ NT, you had to use NT's boot loader. I still need NT for some of my work (sigh). I have nothing but good things to say about ASL. I also bought a server from them some months back. My laptop, for example, came w/ kernel 2.2.14. Also NT SP6. (and nothing but bare bones NT, not all the cruft you usually get) When I bought my server, I asked for the maximum amount of memory available for the RAID controller. I guess this was an unusual request. It caused problems. I don't even want to think how much time they might have spent trying to debug this. They intalled NT, and had the same problems. They tried different memory types. They found and applied every patch they could find. They ended up reconfiguring the controller w/ the default memory configuration. This server has been running our office for several months now without a single hiccup. (It was an AMI something or other. I'm at home right now. If anyone cares about what RAID controller this was, let me know.) Oh, they also gave me a different motherboard. I wanted a motherboard w/ an onboard SCSI drive for my boot drives, rather than IDE. They also sold me this laptop before they had it on their web site. I had asked for a quote for their previous model, and they said "oh, by the way, we have this new model coming out also..." So maybe I didn't get the amount of controller memory I wanted, but I sure got the service.
