Judging by Compaq's web site, they simply refer to it as "Alpha" and don't qualify it with either company name. I personally feel that DEC Alpha and Compaq Alpha are interchangeable, since DEC created it (apparently with Intel's help, unbeknownst to them...:), and Compaq subsequently bought it. Both terms equally convey the idea that you're talking about that specific chip (at least, they do to me). But that's just my opinion, of which I have many... :D -- "Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?"
