I have been running multiple NICS (both are NE2000 clones of different brands), and I have not had to use LILO to force the recognition. Both are PCI NICS. Here is an example of how to do it in /etc/modules.conf (from the Mini Howto Home Network), alias eth0 ne alias eth1 ne options ne io=0x330,0x360 irq=7,9 You could do a similar thing with the append line in your lilo.conf, append = "eth0=io=0x330,irq=7" I am not 100% sure of the exact form of this, but this should give you a clue.
