Today, Derek Martin gleaned this insight: > > Hi all, > > Anyone have a Dell Inspiron 5000 with the 15" SXGA display (that does > 1400x1050 resolution), AND get it to work with X? All I'm able to get is > a black flickering screen... Well, I got it working (kinda) -- I downloaded the XFree 3.6 RPMs from the redhat 6.2 beta directory, and installed them. I was messing with displaying alternately to the display and a monitor and then it started to work... Only problem is, it doesn't seem to initialize properly, and I have to switch to monitor and back before it is displayed correctly. I don't suppose anyone knows a way around this one? -- PGP/GPG Public key at http://cerberus.ne.mediaone.net/~derek/pubkey.txt ------------------------------------------------------ Derek D.
