They should be orderable as replacement parts with the correct number. Service manual: http://support.neccsdeast.com/download/versa6050sr.pdf User guide: http://support.neccsdeast.com/download/versa6035ug.pdf NEC knowledgebase article 055695 states that the 6000 series uses the VersaBay II form factor CD-ROM drive. This form factor was among the most widely used among a large number of different models. Part of the confusion may be that the original CD drive which shipped with your machine, FRU 136-269134-001A (OP-260-62003), was 6X and is, in fact, no longer available. However, it is completely interchangeable with the newer 10X CD drive, FRU 136-241133-001A (OP-260-62005), which is current. My understanding is that the 20X CD FRU 136-242043-001A which is intended for the 6260 will also work in your machine, but I am not sure. You can call NEC at 1-888-632-8701. -- Mike On Mon, 13 Mar 2000, Frank Ramsay wrote: > Does anyone know a good source for laptop cd-roms? > specificly for a Versa 6050MH > > NEC's site doesn't list them and the sales person couldn't get them... :( - Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" on the first line of the message body to discuss-request at blu.org (Subject line is ignored).
