serial console woes ... no control-c

Howdy folks,

I have not investigated this, but I figured that this ought to be
common enough that someone has a fix. I have a terminal attached to
the serial port of a RH 6.1/Sparc system. I cannot get "control-c" to
work as the 'intr' key. Any pointers? The host is running 'getty'
on the serial port and everything works ok except for the control
characters (cntl-c, cntl-z, and others I'm sure). By the way,
this is also true for my i586 systems in my lab to the best of my
recollection.
