For what it's worth, I use MySQL pretty exclusively in development.. I've not used it for any extremely large scale applications/websites/db work yet, but for small - medium sized stuff it works great. I recently built an application around PostgreSQL, worked well also.. but I prefer mySQL... I occasionally do some work for my primary employer using FOCUS (ugh) to query against DB2 as well as Access 2000 via ODBC to access DB2 tables on an IBM mainframe.. I don't care to do much of that ;) Hope that helps, Bryan --- Bryan Strawser, feanor at gondolin.org http://feanor.gondolin.org > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-discuss at blu.org [mailto:owner-discuss at blu.org]On Behalf Of > Roger Day > Sent: Tuesday, October 24, 2000 12:54 PM > To: lead-lug at lists.healthlink.org.za > Cc: discuss at blu.org > Subject: Databases - opensource > > > Greetings all > > I am busy defining and specifying a project to build a new website for an > organisation.
