Hi Brian > Question: what do people use for mirroring software? All I want to do > is mirror a single directory and update it daily (or hourly). I looked > into rsync, but that's really not the right tool for anonymous ftp > mirroring, and everything I've tried in the past seemed rather > unreliable (if there's a problem they just dump out and don't try to > reconnect until a day later). If anyone has any suggestions (and sample > config files/scripts), I'd love to hear about it. Thanks in advance. Have a look at Mirrordir - written by Paul Sheer of Obsidian systems in SA. www.obsidian.co.za/mirrordir/ - I think there is a link on SourceForge as well. I think you will find it does more than what you are wanting it to do, ie it will mirror an entire file system, not just a directory ;-) Hope that helps Roger - Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" on the first line of the message body to discuss-request at blu.org (Subject line is ignored).
