Lately I have been finding some good buys at Compaq Factory Outlet. http://www.compaqworks.com/ or http://www.compaqfactoryoutlet.com. Some of these are brand new and overstock and some are refurbished. I've bought 2 laptops from them without a hitch (I get an employee discount). It does take about 7 days to deliver. An old 486 would work also, but a Pentium II or slower Pentium III should be available for short money.
