Ok, I'm stuck. While trying to use red-carpet to get my ximian gnome up to date, I've corrupted my rpm database. I tried --rebuilddb as requested, but it still reports the same error. As do commands like -qa, -Va, and so on. They all report: error: free list corrupt (1819464)- please run "rpm --rebuilddb" More information is available from http://www.rpm.org or the rpm-list at redhat.com mailing list if "rpm --rebuilddb" fails to correct the problem. I've written redhat but gotten no response, posted to linux.redhat.rpm and gotten silence as well. I asked ximian, I don't know if they'll think it's anything to do with them at all. What should I do? My machine seems to be running fine, but if I try to do anything rpm related (such as even bringing up xrpm or red-carpet) it fails out.
