> Earthlink claims I'm close enough to the CO, whereas Verizon claims I am not. Verizon may be telling the truth. From what I've learned, the DSL providers only put their equipment in select central offices (CO). Earthlink may have their equipment in a CO closer to you. Regardless, beware of long DSL spans. I had perfect DSL service when I lived in Brighon (100% underground cables, about 1 mile from the CO). But I was down 5-50% of the time when I moved to an area with overhead lines over 2 miles from the CO. I had technicians at my home at least 6 times but no one could fix it, so I went to AT&T Broadband cable and have been happy ever since. - Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" on the first line of the message body to discuss-request at blu.org (Subject line is ignored).
