Linux & Unix are almost the same, and it's one of the better books out there. The other book I used in my early learning was "Mastering Linux Premium Edition," a Sybex book. Others will probably have other recommendations, as well. I would also recommend setting up a small network at home (2 cheap computers to start with) where you can play around with the stuff. There's nothing like doing it to make you understand. jeff ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Jeffry Smith Technical Sales Consultant Mission Critical Linux smith at missioncriticallinux.com phone:603.930.9739 fax:978.446.9470 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Thought for today: vgrep /vee'grep/ v.,n.
