Date: Mon, 03 Sep 2001 09:43:24 -0400 From: Brian Lockwood <lockwood at mac.com> I would recommend the new iBook from Apple. It's has a 500 mhz Power PC processor with 128 mb for it's base memory. Battery life is advetized in the 5 hour range but in reality it's about 4 hours. Installation is supper easy because the open firm is written in fourth and is preprogrammed to boot unto Linux. I'd ideally like a bigger screen than that; I'm in the habit of running multiple emacs windows at 6x10 and I like getting 80 some odd lines of text in. -- Robert Krawitz <rlk at alum.mit.edu> http://www.tiac.net/users/rlk/ Tall Clubs International -- http://www.tall.org/ or 1-888-IM-TALL-2 Member of the League for Programming Freedom -- mail lpf at uunet.uu.net Project lead for Gimp Print/stp -- http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net "Linux doesn't dictate how I work, I dictate how Linux works." --Eric Crampton - Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" on the first line of the message body to discuss-request at blu.org (Subject line is ignored).
