Make sure you got a receipt for the equipment. I returned my wife's cable modem last year, and the lady was very put out because I asked for a receipt. I made her sign it. (This was before AT&T BB though). My next bill showed a $400 charge for a non-returned cable modem. I called Mediaone and faxed them a copy of the receipt. The next day I checked my account online to find that they had debited by account so I owed them for 2 cable modems :-). I called billing again, and the clerk told me my account was certainly screwed up and that she would correct the errors, which she did. In the long run, I have been satisfied with my cable modem and I really have not found a better alternative for the price.
