compact flash

can somebody point me to step-by-step instructions for getting SanDisk
compact flash (for my digital camera) to be read under debian linux? It
plugs into a pcmcia card, which plugs into my laptop.

I think I have a conceptual understanding, but I'm not sure which
modules to install, how to create the necessary device nodes (if indeed
they are necessary), etc.

BTW, the camera is the canon s110, and it's awesome.
