GIMP Question

You can program GIMP macro's in scheme.

An easier way may be to use ImageMagick.

Specifically, to composite images, you would use the `combine` tool.

You may have ImageMagick already installed.  Try `which combine`, or `rpm
-qa | grep Image` (or `dpkg -l imagemagick` for debian).
