Dear John I have sucessfully set up several dual/tri boot linux systems includng.. Win98 / Redhat Linux 7.1 WinME / Suse 7.2 Win98 / WinNT4 / Redhat 7.1 (Using Lilo) Win2K / Redhat 7.1 WinXP(beta) / Redhat 7.1 I am currently in my Linux\Unix II class and we did alot of dual boot work. Here are some of my sugestons. 1st install Win98 no matter what Win OS you ultimately want. 2nd Make Sure you say NO when asked if you want large disk support during Win98 setup. This will make sure that Win98 is installed on Fat and not Fat32. it will also limit the Windows system partion (C:) to 2 gigs 3rd Install your Linux Distro. When you get to Fdisk you want to set up your 1st partion /boot make it 16 megs (this will keep the boot partion under the 1024 cylinder which may be important for some Linux distros) We did it and it worked for us every time! You can add more Win partions at this time if you wish. Now for the tri boot you can install WinNT from Within Win98 If you want a Tri boot just load WinNT n a different directory then "Windows" like "WinNT". LILO will boot to either LINUX or WINDOWS if you choose windows the NT boot loader will THEN let you choose between NT and 98. Thus a Tri-boot. IF you want to load Win2K or XP just either upgrade from within Win98 or simply choose the Win98 partiton when you install the new Win OS. Hope this helps you. It worked for us. --- Charles Peterman <peterman at eecs.tufts.edu> wrote: > > Look for the LILO faq.
