Flat panel monitors use significantly less power than their CRT rivals. Typically, a 17 inch CRT monitor consumes 80~100 Watts, while a 15 inch flat panel (similar display area!) consumes only 30~40 Watts. In a large office with many screens, using flat panels will make a significant saving in electricity costs. -Michael Dinsmore mjdinsmore at hotmail.com http://www.MTNhike.com >From: "Jerry Feldman" <gaf at blu.org> >Just a quick question on monitors in general and their power draw. >I was curious regarding the amount of power a standard CRT monitor >might draw in contrast to a (roughly) equivalent TFT flat panel monitor. > >And speaking of roughly equivalent, it appears that the 15" TFT screens >are roughly equivalent to the 17" CRT. > >Another thing is the backlighting. Some warrantees specifically include >the backlighting, some do not. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp
