> Hello there, I am new to Linux and open source and would like to learn more > about it. I do not have a computer to bring to the Installfest in Boston > this weekend but would like to find someone who is willing to help me. I > have scanned some tutorials but want hands-on practice, one to one with > someone who knows what they are doing and is willing to teach me. My > ultimate goal is to have Linux on a desktop at home, know how to use it, ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ do this first! > associated programs, and learn more about the Boston area open source > community. If you can help let me know. You really ought to stop at Staples and pick up a copy of Mandrake or Suse and get started. There's nothing like having a machine in front of you. Otherwise, check out www.linuxdoc.org and lwn.net for interesting reading.
