I think ATT Broadband is a big umbrella for their broadband network which is made up of a lot of little networks depending on your location and when they brought that area of the network online. I don't think I will be affected, though I did lose connectivity last night at around 2:00am (might have been a fluke). My hostname is somemacaddress.ne.mediaone.net and I never use their email, so I don't know offhand what my email address would be. Slashdot had an article a few days ago about the @home thing and there were a bunch of comments. After reading them and the vague ATT Broadband website on the @home thing, I came to the conclusion that there isn't an accurate litmus test as to whether you're going to be affected and exactly how until after the fact. slashdot article: http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=01/11/28/0050236&mode=thread ATT broadband announcement website: http://help.broadband.att.com/index.jsp?lobid=1&defaultchecked=1 Course, the information seems to change hourly, so I don't know if I would come to the same conclusion now that I did yesterday. /will On Thu, 29 Nov 2001, Peter R.
