I have got the I/O and IRQ for my on-board sound! Can anyone give me some pointers for finding/loading the necessary module for someone who has not done so before? Any reference/reading for this task? Thanks. >>Ali =========================================================== Message: 5 From: "Chuck Young" <chy at genuity.com> To: "Jerry Feldman" <gaf at blu.org>, <discuss at blu.org> Subject: RE: Activating on-motherboard (integrated) sound in Linux Date: Fri, 14 Dec 2001 13:31:46 -0500 Ali, If you want to waste a lot of time and energy... Boot into the compaq diagnostic partition (assuming you did not overwrite it) and look at the options for "known" hardware. The I/O and IRQ of your on-board hardware (if available) will come in handy if you have the guts to look for a module and build/load it. You may need to open the hood and search for a chip number too. My Deskpro has BIOS on disk, which sucks BTW.
