Thanks for the insight I modified my config just in time. I think the Install fests need a followup session for all those who got the default install with ext3 enabled, so that it can be compiled into the kernel. I know I've shut my box off inadvertantly in the past and e2fschk has saved me but thats not gong to work with ext3. THe bloated kernel that comes with the distributions is not the default in 'make xconfig' so just changing that option is not gong to get you what you had. Jim Kelly-Rand
