I tried a number of things, and after playing around with the AS/400 telnet system I discovered a way to send a limited set of control or escape sequences. You have to tell telnet that when it recieves an F5 to send esc to the remote system. As a result I've gotten some functionality working, but it's still a _very_ painfull process. So far vi has been the most usable, but even that is hobbled by the AS/400 terminal. -fjr Frank Ramsay Systems Programmer Castel, Inc 14 Summer St, 3rd Floor Malden, MA 02148 (781) 324-0140 (voice) (781) 324-0277 (fax) Emal: framsay at castel.com "Jerry Feldman" To: discuss at blu.org <gaf at blu.org> cc: Sent by: Subject: Re: an editor that doesn't require any esc or discuss-admin control keys to be used... @blu.org 08/16/02 04:22 PM Since Frank Ramsay was the original poster, have you tried anything useful yet? -- Jerry Feldman <gaf at blu.org> Associate Director Boston Linux and Unix user group http://www.blu.org PGP key id:C5061EA9 PGP Key fingerprint:053C 73EC 3AC1 5C44 3E14 9245 FB00 3ED5 C506 1EA9 _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list Discuss at blu.org http://www.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss
