SuSE officially released 8.1 yesterday. My copy arrived on my doorstep yesterday. They have had it available for preorder on their web site. http://www.suse.com/index_us.html Starting with 8.0, SuSE has fully adopted the Linux Standards Base (LSB), and manual system configuration is very similar to Red Hat and the Red Hat derivatives. They have done away with /etc/rc.config. They still have a central configuration utility, YaST2, but you don't need to use it. YaST also supports the online update service (there is a command line utility also so you can set up a cron job). -- Jerry Feldman <gaf at blu.org> Associate Director Boston Linux and Unix user group http://www.blu.org PGP key id:C5061EA9 PGP Key fingerprint:053C 73EC 3AC1 5C44 3E14 9245 FB00 3ED5 C506 1EA9
