athenahealth is a business services provider for physicians. Utilizing 
athenaNet, athenahealth's comprehensive practice management platform 
(accessed via a high-speed internet or private network connection), 
athenahealth delivers a full range of services designed to materially improve 
the cash flow and manageability of medical offices. By linking electronically 
to payors, athenaNet speeds the process of submitting claims, checking 
eligibility and more. By learning the rules that must be applied to each 
given health plan product and dynamically improving the workflow of the 
medical office based on those rules, athenaNet systematically produces 
cleaner claims. And by understanding the intricacies of the collections 
process, the athenahealth billing center gets these claims paid faster.

Goals

* 100% system availablity during business hours (6am-1am Eastern 7 days/week, 
365 days/year)
* Meet server response-time SLAs
* No security breaches

Responsibilities
* work two to four maintenance windows (1am - 4am) per month
* be first point of contact every other week
* write systems-management scripts in Perl
* manage systems-related projects
* report web/app/database server resource utilization statistics
* mentor junior system administrators
* evaluate technology and vendors
* Demonstrate commitment to athena's Corporate Compliance Code; including 
escalation of all compliance issues through the chain of command and to the 
company's Compliance Officer and/or General Counsel.

Requirements
* Linux, Apache, Perl, and Oracle experience
* Demonstrated ability to learn new systems
* Demonstrated ability to calmly and effectively manage crises and work to 
prevent them in the future
* A technical degree or substantial work experience in the field

The Senior Systems Administrator will report to the CTO, based in our 
headquarters, located in Waltham, Massachusetts. Employees are eligible for 
performance-based bonuses, including stock options. In addition, benefits 
include a minimum of three weeks vacation, four days paid sick leave, paid 
holidays, health insurance, and participation in the Company's 401k plan.
