SIGKILL

I want to thank everyone for their suggestions, but I couldn't get any of
them to work with our application. I ended up downloading the demo of
Rational Purify Plus, and got an eval license. It's now chomping away on
the program.

In my experience, valgrind is reasonably fast (but it does slow the
running program down a bit). If your program continues to hang, then
I think that something is wrong. Please double-check your invocation,
and check the valgrind errata too.
