I had contemplated getting Sun's Java certification and/or the LPI certification, but one of my headhunters told me it wasn't worth the cost; there are so many people out there with those certificates that employers don't pay attention to them. In this market, experience is about the only thing that counts. That seemed odd to me, since a certificate would be a more objective measurement of one's skill than a line on a resume, but this headhunter was highly recommended by several of my friends, so she must know what she's talking about. Disclaimer: this is for programming work; maybe the people hiring sysadmins have different standards. -- "You clearly couldn't find a clue if you were covered with clue musk in a clue field in the middle of clue mating season." --Matt Ringel // seth gordon // sethg at ropine.com // http://ropine.com/sethg/cv.html //
