Which is fine until I install a new RPM...

Unless there is some way to query the RPM database for all unmodified
files to build the exclude list?  I suppose I could build something
out of the output of "rpm -Va --nodeps"....

Um,

This seems to assume shared objects are not replaced as part of a
security update or patch process, does it not?  I think they do
occasionally replace these "permanent objects", no?
