1) Older BIOS models won't handle over certain disk sizes 2) the BIOS might support 160 but doesn't recognize the geometry 3) Older Windows also needed a disk-util TSR that loaded under Windows, if the BIOS was relatively old. Check the Maxtor website for an exact solution. ----- Original Message ----- From: <kgleason.ma.ultranet at rcn.com> To: <discuss at blu.org> Sent: Friday, May 30, 2003 10:04 PM Subject: Windows question...? I recently installed a Maxtor ultra series 160G hard drive on my wife's old Acer system. Moved up to Win98Se but now am receiving a dialog box at startup that says I don't have a "PCI Mass Storage Controller". What is it, how do I get it if I really need it? Thanks for your help!
