It appears that Comcast uses a pool of four POP servers. I have noticed that my connection to their POP server is very slow recently and access in general is slow. I suppose it's due to the switchover. However, the POP server pool seems small and I don't like that they don't divide the traffic by region. i.e. performance suffers. Mediaone had a regional scheme but it must have been hard on tech support and install techs.
