Motorola incorporated DOCSIS 2.0 Advanced Time Division Multiple Access 
(A-TDMA) and Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (S-CDMA) 
technologies into the Motorola SB5100, which can triple the upstream 
capacity (30Mbps) and will enable operators to offer new interactive 
services to their cable modem customers. These technologies also enhance 
the robustness of the cable modem for added functionality.

The Motorola SB5100 is interoperable and backward-compatible with DOCSIS 
1.0 and 1.1, giving operators the freedom and flexibility to 
incrementally upgrade their systems to a DOCSIS 2.0-based solution. This 
also enables operators to support multiple levels of DOCSIS and services 
today in their current systems, with one cable modem.

In addition to offering the latest technology innovations, the Motorola 
SB5100 boasts a new design that is both highly functional and 
consumer-friendly. Twenty-five percent more compact than its 
predecessors, the Motorola SB5100)B?s efficient size frees up even more
