I receive my mail from a co-located server and use fetchmail over an ssh tunnel to bring it into my mail server at home. My home mailserver uses a second ssh tunnel to relay outbound mail through the co-located server. My home mailserver runs Redhat8. I use the supplied imapd (recompiled to use pine's "mail" directory instead of the user's home directory for the mailbox root) with a number of imap mail clients, including Ximian Evolution on Linux, Apple Mail on MacOSX, and Squirrelmail when I'm on the road. I only allow ssh from outside, so to use Squirrelmail, I set up an ssh tunnel to my home mailserver. If I'm on a Windows box, I'll download and install PuTTY, then use that to create the ssh tunnel. -- John Abreau / jabr at abreau.net / http://www.abreau.net (PGP) D5C7B5D9 / (FP) 72 FB 39 4F 3C 3B D6 5B E0 C8 5A 6E F1 2C BE 99 -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
