checking kernel options



If the filesystem(s) are loaded (compiled or
loadable), an lsmod should tell you:

# lsmod
Module                  Size  Used by    Not tainted
vfat                   13004   0  (unused)
fat                    38808   0  [vfat]

I would also recommend either testing a new, blank
floppy to see if it will mount or testing the floppy
in question on a system/drive that is known to work. 
You might also try an mformat on a blank floppy.
