When: Wednesday, December 17, 2003 7:00 PM (6:30 for general Q&A)
Topic: Zope - A Bird's and Worm's Eye View
Location: MIT Building 4-370
Presented by: Rob Page, CEO, Zope Corporation - rob at zope com
Zope is an open source application server for building content
management systems, intranets, portals, and custom applications. Zope is
written in Python, a highly-productive, object-oriented scripting
language.
This presentation will learn about Zope the platform and see
demonstrations and hear details about applications that run on top of
Zope. Specifically:
* ZEO -- Zope's free/open source scalability component
* applications that are, themselves, free and open source and
available for download at www.zope.org
* applications that are written by end users (e.g., NATO's
intranet)
* commercial ("visible" source) applications including
Zope4Intranets (a visible source intranet product) and
Zope4Media (recently deployed by Boston.com)
