Repeat after me: "The list moderator is always right. I will listen to the list moderator. I will not ignore the list moderator's recommendations. The list moderator is God." *pulls on flame retardant undies* That being said, calling Microsoft M$ is a derogatory term, there are people who use MS out there, and they don't like it. How would you like it if someone knocks on Linux on a list? Having a person flame you because they disagree with your spelling takes away from the signal and adds to the noise, and generally takes away from the value of the list (see: flamewars on Full-Disclosure). Chances are the moderator was nipping it in the bud. If you really "wanted an answer from a security professional" you could of redone your letter to say MS or *gasp* 'Microsoft'. So really, don't complain.
