When: Wednesday, April 21, 2004 7:00 PM (6:30 for general Q&A) Topic: Linux Terminal Server Project Location: MIT Building 4-370 Presented by: David Belfer-Shevet Over the last few years, a dedicated group of Linux enthusiasts has taken the old concept of diskless workstations, common in the late 80's on Sun equipment, and reapplied it to current hardware and software platforms. This work has resulted in the Linux Terminal Server Project, (www.ltsp.org), a series of tools and procedures for turning aging PC's into fully functional Linux workstations, simply by booting a single floppy, frequently without altering the existing software on the client machine. Please check the BLU website, http://www.blu.org for additional information, parking and directions. -- Jerry Feldman <gaf at blu.org> Boston Linux and Unix user group http://www.blu.org PGP key id:C5061EA9 PGP Key fingerprint:053C 73EC 3AC1 5C44 3E14 9245 FB00 3ED5 C506 1EA9 -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
