GUI for GnuPG?

Having pretty much learned how to use GnuPG via the command line, and 
being very lazy, is it terribly difficult for a group of young java 
programmers to create a gui for this?  Say a clone of the PGP Corp 
Desktop product?  Are there some hidden problems I don't see?  I don't 
like the crop of available gui's;

Any pointers or suggestions for a more suitable project are appreciated.
