OK, I have a working installation of sarge running off the unstable branch. The hardest part was figuring out how to install packages, and what packages were available. I stumbled onto packages.debian.org while installing Subversion. It had exactly what I was looking for. Now it's time to configure apache/mod_perl, setup the subversion repository, and design the database schema! Thanks for the help in getting this far. I think I could grow to like Debian - the package system is very slick from my limited experience so far.
