Floppies becoming obsolete

FWIW - Steve Jobs' NeXT computer didn't include a floppy in 1989 because
it had a 256MB magneto-optical disc instead. Visionary but way ahead of
it's time. Everyone had data on floppies and there was no way to
transfer that data (Internet was available but not pervasive nor fast.)
However, the bigger problem was that software vendors had to distribute
their software on 256MB cartridges which was too expensive.
