(computers & tech) FREE SGI Indy and O2 (North of Boston) (fwd)



Not really, I admin'd a bunch of Indigo's and O2's for a Boss that
thought they were top of the line (and this was last year), he didn't
believe a video card manufactured last year could outperform his O2's.
Constantly complained to me that the system was slow and that I should
'fix it'.  He didn't undrestand that a 150mhz MIPS system was going to
be slow as dirt compared to any PC made in the last 5 years, not to
mention his shiney G4 powerbook.

Anyways, IRIX is a pain, I wouldn't run it unless I had a specific
application that required it (which was the case at that job).  And I
do personally own a Indigo2, and to prove how useful it is, it sits in
the basement of my workspace gathering dust.
