Multihomed / Failover IMAP Config?

>You can use a backup MX record to solve this.

I already have that setup, but I was hoping to have a more transparent
setup, so that I could just change my client side IMAP server entry and
then fix the primary server at my leisure or whenever I have access to
the machine

>rsync?

I was originally going to do that but it is hard to tell the other people
who use my mail server not to delete any mail while I run the rsync
script.

I was hoping that once I had my personal mail server running that I could
do the same for real mail servers. Meaning that company A has multiple
servers on the east and west coast and if one goes down that other one
takes over seamlessly.

One of the things I was thinking about was trying to move my maildir to
MySQL and then using MySql's master/slave setup. Hypothetically, all I
would have to do is make sure that DNS was set up propperly. I figure if
M$ Exchange can do it, why not Postfix/Courier?

I just did a google search and it seams people are already using Mysql for
a mail store.

I think I'll try this out tonight. :)
